If you’re the proud owner of a vehicle in New Jersey, you should have a title to go along with it. But, in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, your title can go missing or be irreparably damaged. What are you supposed to do if you find yourself in this situation? The state of New Jersey has a whole procedure outlined for you to follow if you’re needing a duplicate title. Before you head out, be sure to bring your latest registration for the car (even if it’s expired) and proof of insurance for the vehicle. There is a $60.00 titling fee, which you can pay via American Express card, MasterCard, Visa card, check, money order, or cash. If you can’t make it to your local motor vehicle agency, you can mail your completed application to the following address:

If you’ll be applying through the mail, note that they will only accept payment of the $60.00 fee via check or money order. They will also need a copy of your driver’s license along with the application. Your application will be rejected if it is not filled out completely or you fail to pay the $60.00 fee, so double check everything before you mail it off!
