A Little About Cudahy, Wisconsin
Geography
Cudahy, located in Wisconsin's Milwaukee County, has a population of nearly 19,000 people. Initially referred to as Buckhorn Settlement, Cudahy was renamed in the late 19th century.
The city's renaming occurred after Patrick Cudahy, an American industrialist who worked in the meat packing industry, bought 700 acres of local land.
Cudahy purchased two miles within the Milwaukee city limits along with space in the Town of Lake to construct his meatpacking business.
Cudahy's first village president took office in 1895. By 1906, Cudahy was officially incorporated as a city. At the time, Cudahy had around 2,550 people.
