A Little About Arlington, Washington
Arlington is a city in Washington state and is a part of the Seattle metropolitan area. Located where the north and south of the Stillaguamish River meet, it is a small town with just over 18,000 residents.
Originally, Arlington was established in the 1880s by settlers. Although it began as two towns, Arlington and Haller City, Haller City was absorbed by the larger Arlington. This was officially incorporated as a city in 1903.
During the 1930s, the Arlington area was the site of major projects in an attempt to create jobs. This included the construction of a municipal airport. In the 1980s, Arlington was affected by suburbanization.
This was due to the expansion of Seattle, and it grew by more than 450 percent. Today, Arlington offers aviation, manufacturing, and other industrial industries, and offers many retirement homes as well.
Located in the Puget Sound lowlands, Arlington has dry summers and mild, rainy winters. Most of the rain arrives during the winter or spring, but on average, there are 181 days of rain in Arlington.
The average temperature in July is 73 degrees, while the high in January averages out at 44.5 degrees. Overall, Arlington has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate.
