Mocksville is a community of over 5,000 residents, located in North Carolina. Located in a space that is close to economic opportunities, there is a wonderful community feel, along with happy community members.

Davie County was formed on this portion of land in 1836, and the county was named in honor of William R. Davie, a Revolutionary War Leader.
According to records, a small village named “Mocks Old Field” was in existence before the American Revolution. This is where they believe Mocksville obtained its name.
In 1839, the Town of Mocksville was chartered by the North Carolina General Assembly. Since then, Mocksville has declared three historic districts which proudly display American flags.
Being one of 74 towns in North Carolina and one of more than 3,000 in the nation to receive the Tree City USA recognition, you can find plenty of greenery here.
Designated as a “Main Street Community” and one of the 50 Safest Cities in North Carolina, you will feel comfortable walking around at any time of day.

Only an hour from Mocksville is Charlotte, North Carolina. Although known for NASCAR, you do not need to be a NASCAR fan to enjoy Charlotte.

Learn About Daniel Boone
The name Daniel Boone is usually thought to be associated with Kentucky and the West, but he also lived in Davie County, which is the county of Mocksville. He became one of the most important explorers in opening the land across the Appalachians.
He lived in Davie County for over 13 years starting at the age of 18 when his family moved to the area. Daniel’s father, mother, and brother are all buried .5 miles west of Mocksville in the Joppa Cemetery.

Another location from the 20th century is the Former Princess Theatre and Hotel Mocksville. Here Arthur Daniel built and operated the Princess Theatre from 1927 to 1963. Hotel Mocksville was built in 1934 and still stands. With 22 rooms, it was the only hotel around for years. Take a look at this piece of history.
