A Little About Somerville, New Jersey!
Just a few hours from the big city of New York, Somerville is a borough in the state of New Jersey. With a population of just over 12,000 residents, a decade ago, there may not have been much to see here. Now, with a building boom and downtown revitalization, the town has changed.
Somerville was originally formed as a town in 1863. Settled in colonial times primarily by the Dutch, they established their church starting in 1754. The name "Somerville" was taken from four brothers of the Somerville family. This family founded the town and grew the farming community.
After the completion of the railroad in the 1840s, the town grew rapidly in industries of brick making. Now, Main Street Somerville offers historical buildings, and new boutique shops along with second-hand shops.
There are various restaurants in Somerville, as well as modern office buildings and remodeled apartments. With a mix of modern amenities and a diverse past, Somerville is more of a destination than you might realize.

Head to Duke Farms
Duke Farms is an estate that was established by James Buchanan Duke. James was an American entrepreneur who founded Duke Power and the American Tobacco Company. The property is managed by the Doris Duke Foundation after the death of Doris Duke, the second owner.

Take a Trip to Allenstown
Allentown is a city in eastern Pennsylvania. Here you can find the Liberty Bell Museum which houses a full-size replica of the iconic bell. Nearby, the Allentown Art Museum’s collections include Renaissance and modern American works.
