Fourth of July is just around the corner, and everyone is gearing up and making plans to celebrate the red, white and blue.

Independence Day is a great time to get together with family and friend and to enjoy the summer sun and have some fun. Planning a fun celebration with your family doesn’t have to be stressful or time-consuming. A lot of the most family-centric activities for the Fourth might already be going on in your town, but having more options never hurts!

Here are our favorite family-friendly Fourth of July activities.

Watch a Parade

American Flag Waving on Car

Most communities have a parade this time of year. You can check your local city calendar to find out what is going on in your area. If your community does not have a parade, here’s a DIY alternative: get together with your neighbors and throw one yourselves! Get all the kiddos dressed up in red, white and blue, decorate their bikes and scooters, and march around the neighborhood.

Head to the Park

Family at the Park

A park is a great place for the community to come together! You can bring a frisbee, or bring your furry friends along to enjoy the outdoors. You can even plan a community BBQ at the park to get everyone involved.

Car Shows

Classic Cars at a Car Show

Car shows typically have a broad range of vehicles that cater to every car enthusiast. Cars and Coffee has one of the most epic car shows, and they’re bound to be somewhere near you soon, with shows planned all summer long!

Plan a Patriotic Getaway

Woman Sitting on Car Tailgate

Make a list of historical sights you want to visit, pack up the family, hop in the car and drive. The east coast is a great place to look for strong historical roots and sightseeing. There’s the White House, Colonial Williamsburg, Plymouth Rock, and so much more to explore. The west coast has some pretty great sightseeing as well. There is Alcatraz Island in San Francisco, the Pioneer Courthouse and Fort Rock Cave.

Watch a Fireworks Show

Women Watching Fireworks

The ultimate Fourth of July practice is sitting on a blanket and gazing at the sky as it lights up. Have the entire family guess how many red, white, or blue fireworks you will see before the fireworks go off and then have a tally going once they start. The person who guesses the closest amount to the correct color can receive a prize of your choosing.

Check Out Some Awesome Rides

Motorcycles at CrashedToys Dallas

If you are in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and are looking for a family-friendly party with options for every age, look no further. CrashedToys is the ultimate hangout. You have live music, two bars (for the adults), The Cage filled with exotic cars and motorcycles, and a huge inventory of vehicles up for auction every Saturday. Food trucks roll in for Fourth of July noms the whole family will love, and there’s even a doghouse for Fido!

We hope this list of Fourth of July activities has helped with your holiday planning!
