Ways To Decorate Your Car

Now that we have you excited about the competition is your mind spinning with ideas on how to decorate your car? For some decorating their car for the holidays is easy, but some people don’t even know where to begin.

No matter your skill level in the decorating field, here is a list of ways to decorate your car for the holidays that’s sure to inspire and get your creative juices flowing.

1. Rudolph Nose and Reindeer Antlers

This is the best option for people that want to show off their holiday spirit but don’t want to work too hard to do so. They are usually sold in kits with a pair of reindeer antlers and a red nose. The antlers clip on to the windows on each side of the car and the nose ties to the front grille.

You can usually find them in stores or online at Amazon and Walmart. You can also find other variations of the window clip-ons such as these Christmas tree clip-ons.

The great thing about dressing up your car as Rudolph is that it’s quick, easy, and fits on any vehicle. You also don’t have to worry about it damaging your car in any way.

2. Window Decals and Paint

Another easy way to show off your holiday cheer is to use window decals and car paint to create festive designs. There are tons of options online for Christmas related car decals such as…

You can also use car paint to create designs such as snowflakes, Christmas trees, and ornaments. Or you can wish your fellow commuters a Happy Holiday or Merry Christmas by writing it on your car. The great thing about car paint is that it allows you to be as creative as you want and make it your own. It also washes off when you’re done for easy clean up.

Before applying decals and car paint to your vehicle just be sure to check the packaging for instructions so you do not damage your car. And make sure any car paint, decals, or magnets are not obstructing your driving.

3. Wreaths and Garland

If you would like to decorate your car for the holidays in a more traditional sense, you can attach a wreath to the front grille or garland to your car’s roof railing.

Pro tip: using zip ties is an easy way to attach them and makes it easy to remove at the end of the season.

If you’d like your garland to be a little more festive you can also string some battery operated glimmer lights around it. Be sure to secure the battery pack to the roof railing with tape or zip ties.

4. Christmas Lights

If you’re interested in taking your Christmas car decorating skills to the next level you can string lights around the outside of your vehicle. While this is a fun way to decorate your car for the holidays keep in mind that is not legal in every state. There are regulations against them because the lights can obstruct your view and other driver’s views. There are also restrictions against certain color lights that could be mistaken for emergency vehicles.

However, if stringing Christmas lights on the outside of your car is legal where you live show us your car by posting it on social media with #HolidayCarGear and #CashForCarsContest!
